In addition, monitoring, troubleshooting and tuning of the Java stack in relation to Oracle Financials.   Job Description The Oracle DBA has primary responsibility for installation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, maintenance, support and enhancements to the Oracle database environments within online business environment. He/She will be responsible for creating and maintaining the strategy for Oracle database upgrades, backups (using RMAN) and patching. Other responsibilities includes: Maintain database performance by monitoring space, CPU usage, fragmentation of data, and by tuning queries, setting alerts, etc.  Provide trending reports on the capacity, performance and usage on a monthly basis.  Develop SQL reports to provide data on IT internal systems for performance and scorecard measurements.  Monitor, troubleshoot, tune and perform upgrades, where necessary.  Create and implement a strategy for patching Oracle databases, Java and web server.  Work with application owners to migrate databases from one release to the next, as necessary.  Work with application owners to migrate database changes into test, acceptance, and production environments.  Work with security team to establish standards and policies to ensure enterprise information assets are properly secured and protected by appropriate access management and privacy controls.  Develop, communicate, and carry out procedures designed to facilitate recovery from database failure, such as online backups, archiving, and exports  Plan, document and provide support for Disaster Recovery of the Oracle database environments.  Document system configurations, support processes and procedures.
